Small but growing law firm located in the heart of Boston's financial district is seeking corporate, real estate, labor/employment and litigation attorneys with 7 to 15 years of experience at large law firms and some amounts of portable business.
Successful candidates will be highly entrepreneurial with strong business development skills and an interest in developing their own practice and helping the firm grow and prosper. This is an outstanding opportunity for attorneys who were laid off from a large law firm because of the economic downturn and are now considering setting up practice on their own.
This firm offers a platform for such attorneys to develop their practice and generate clients, under a very generous compensation arrangement under which attorneys will be able to retain a large percentage of the fees they generate and get credit for work they originate and which is serviced by other attorneys in the firm.
For attorneys who either are seeking or have no better option than to set out on their own, this is potentially a very cost effective means to cover basic overhead expenses of getting a practice off the ground, such as finding office and meeting space in a prime location, creating and maintaining a website, setting up and servicing IT and telephone systems, setting up billing and collection systems, and having access to legal support services on an as-needed basis. The firm also offers a platform to bring in larger matters than an attorney might be able to bring in on his or her own.
The firm is also open to arrangement with attorneys located outside of Boston in other geographic markets and would be interested in working on a remote basis. The firm has the capability to fully integrate such attorneys into their firm IT and telephone networks.
While most mid and large size firms are seeking attorneys with at least $500,000 a year in portable business, this firm will consider candidates with considerably lower amounts of portables and is open to various flexible arrangements.
