The LDS Church didn't spend $40M on Prop 8. The members of the LDS Church personally donated the money. Also, the LDS Church was in support of Prop 8 not trying to 'stop'it as you said. Additionally, this temple is in England and has nothing to do with Prop 8 or the IRS.

Good its time for the Lord's House to get cleansed! This is a good thing for the church as it will be marvelous when the moneychangers repent!

I witnessed the whirlwind that hit downtown SLC, UT and damaged the Visitor's Center (kept quiet) and the "great and spacious building" of the New Assembly Hall which fulfilled D&C 112:24-26 regarding the commencement of the "cleansing of the Lord's House!"

Hopefully, this loss of tax exemption will have a domino effect around the world especially due to the church's illegal political actions with Proposition 8 in the U.S.! (Violated tax exemption regulations)

It's time for the Lord's House to be cleansed as prophesied (D&C 64, 112, 124, etc.). Thank goodness Joseph Smith repented of polygamy and masonry before his death (D. Michael Quinn: The Mormon Hierarchy: Origins of Power, pgs 645-7.)

And yes, this is on topic as I see the toppling of the "great and abominable" church (polygamy, masonry, altering the BoM; changing the identity of God: Alma 11:23-40, Ether 3:14, Mosiah 15:1-5) as prophesied to commence with this revoked tax exemption status!!!

Let those who are "not apostles and prophets"... but who are..."liars and hypocrites"... "be removed from their places" D&C 64:38-40 OR repent for: 1) taking the priesthood away from women and blacks (as originally given by Joseph Smith in 1830), 2) polygamy ("abominable unto the Lord" e.g. adultery NOT justified by the political addition of D&C 132...), 3) Masonic temple rituals which requires a satanic blood oath contrary to Jesus' teachings of NEVER taking an oath (Moses 5:29), and 4)removing the plain and precious truths w(ith the 2nd printing and 3,000+ alterations) from the "Book of the Lamb" e.g. the Book of Mormon as prophesied condemning the church to be the "most great and abominable" (1 Nephi 13).

(If you remove this post, it'll be a witness of the warnings of the Book of Mormon regarding lawyers. Thanks for not violating my free speech as I'm telling the truth as a true and pure witness of the Lord; Jesus Christ who IS God the Eternal Father. (We separate from our Spirit when we incarnate to this earth; thus Jesus' "Father" in Heaven WAS his Spirit: God the Eternal Father ~ Jesus taught "When you have seen Me you have seen the Father" How simple is that?

I agree with the LDS Church's decision to comply with the tax, but I disagree strongly with the policy. Religious denominations in the UK don't enjoy some of the protections afforded by American First Amendment.

ok...but even the churches that are 'open' to the public ..have most of theire doors locked..and not every public 'open church will allow you to have a walk around their office or see whats inside their locker rooms...most even have barriers up..so i think that it is wrong to tax the temple..what IS wrong the british public having to pay some of taxes towards the up keep of the state religion. iam sure the government & state religion is not going to complain about lds members helping to pay towards their wages. All the time lds are not allowed to have there legal wedding in a temple there will be no equall rights for the british tax payer! i say we take it to number 10...we should have the right to get legally married in our temples! everyone else in britain has'rights' so why shouldnt we! protest i say!

The LDS church believes in obeying the law of the land, and the law states that the tax must be paid. As a member, if I were living in England, I wouldn't mind paying a tax to know I could have a holy house of the Lord available to me.
