The exception is when I deal with one judge who prefers things in WordPerfect. I have an old copy of the software so I can convert stuff for him. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have this theoretical dream of working in a completely open source law office. It probably isn&amp;#39;t feasible with a lot of the specialized account management software, but maybe there are sufficient open source alternatives. I&amp;#39;ve yet to complain about others doing it or get complaints when I do it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You might want to look at openoffice.org -- the suite includes software that writes to .pdf files and works better than distiller (and is cheaper).
